Percussion is a universal heartbeat, and in Japan the art of Taiko drumming developed over a thousand years ago. Davis Wakamatsu Taiko Dan is a community group dedicated to studying and sharing with the community both traditional and contemporary styles of this Japanese art form. Wakamatsu (young pine) Taiko Dan formed in 2003 and its members range in age from 7 to 68.
We are happy to perform in solidarity and heartfelt support of the theme of “Unity in Diversity”, anti-racism, and racial/cultural equity.
