The classes will all take place on Thursday from 6 -7 pm with the exception of one Wednesday class as follows:
April: Thursday, April 27th
May: Thursdays: May 4th, (no class May 11th), May 18th, May 25th
June: Thursdays: June 1st, June 8th, WEDNESDAY June 14th, Thursday, June 22nd
Practice speaking, presenting and story-telling on your feet in a small group setting. Expand your expertise and comfort zone in a comfortable yet challenging setting
This Public speaking class is designed for english learners, but open to anyone interested in practicing speaking and improving their presentation skills. The class will include an opportunity for students to make a technical presentation and participate in a mock interview as both an interviewer and an interviewee. This class is 8 sessions. You must have an active I-House Learning Pass to participate in this class. If you do not have a learning pass, please purchase a pass here!
Instructor: Mark Bartson is a professional Civil Engineer with a strong background in presentations, public speaking and technical presentations. Mark will guide and facilitate the classes.
Goal: That each participant will experience success and growth in their ability to communicate clearly and with confidence.
Project: Each participant will develop a portfolio of stories as we move through the course. Participants will share some aspect of their portfolio each week and again at the end of the class. The idea is that the participant has this as a reference and permanent confidence builder.
