Five Great Artists
This will be a fun slide lecture and discussion class about the lives and works of important artists from around the world. The time span will cover the ancient to the modern and both male and female artists. Lectures will cover the life of the artist and the techniques, meaning and social context of the artworks. No homework will be required, but suggested readings will be given for those who want to do more. Each class will be 60 minutes including lecture and discussion.
No background in art or art history is needed to enjoy the class.

Jerry is an artist and a teacher who studied painting and printmaking at UCD with Wayne Thiebaud, Roland Peterson and David Hollowell. He also took an MA in Art History at UCD studying with Jeff Ruda and Seymour Howard. He taught at Canada College in Redwood City as well as Davis and DaVinci High Schools.
Jerry lectures regularly for Olli at UCD Extension.
He continues to paint and sculpt and shows regularly in Northern California as well as in Paris.
