A Filipino musical storytelling event
Join us for Becoming, Belonging, Being & Beyond, a reflective, community-centered experience exploring migration, identity, and the search for home. Through personal storytelling, live Filipino music, and guided participatory activities, the evening invites you to reflect on where you come from, who you are becoming, and how multiple identities can live together.
The experience is anchored by the story of Dr. Julie Arellano, alongside voices from Filipino Americans in the Sacramento community: Claire Oliveros, PhD; Pauline Roselada; Karlo Feliciano; and Thea Feliciano. Live Filipino music performed by Dr. Arellano, Steven Johnson, Eileen Lichnock, and Dr. Alex Mallari shapes the emotional arc of the night, moving from reflection to celebration.
While rooted in Filipino experience, the event welcomes people of all backgrounds. A guided workbook, group activities, and Filipino food elements help create a warm, inclusive space for connection and shared reflection.

About Dr. Julie Arellano:
Julie Arellano, MD is a graduate of the University of the Philippines and residency-trained in psychiatry at Wayne State University. Her clinical work opened the door to her current path—one centered on motherhood, music, and art.
With joy and kindness as her medicine, she now creates spaces intended to support paradigm shifts and awakening experiences. Her ongoing pursuits in education include developing continuing medical education (CMEs) for physicians grounded in both science and soul, authoring books for the child’s heart, and an upcoming podcast with inspiring people from her everyday life.
