Maria has trained thousands of children and adults to ride safely and confidently. She’ll cover everything from understanding bike lanes, green pavement markings, and roundabouts to the rules of the road, biking with children, preventing bike theft, and what to do if you get a flat tire.
Have a bike? Bring it with you! We’ll offer free bike safety inspections and demonstrate how to use a bike pump, check your brakes, and make sure your bike is ready to ride.

About Maria Contreras: Maria Contreras Tebbutt is the founder and director of The Bike Campaign and it’s two Bike Garage locations in Davis and Woodland. Since 2015 The goal of The Bike Campaign has been to encourage more people to ride bikes instead of driving and to provide the education and support they need to do so. Maria has developed the Bike Skills Training program that has been embraced at three school districts in Yolo County where children are taught how to ride bikes and introduced to the rules of the road needed to ride on city streets. Both Bike Garage locations make street legal used bikes available for sale at the lowest prices in the area along with helmets, locks, lights, maps and helpful staff to get you rolling.
